It is the 8th highest mountain in Sri Lanka and is also known as Hakugala or Haggala. Several tributaries of the Uma Oya originate from Hakgala Mountain and the Haggala Botanic Gardens are located at the foot of the mountain. This can be introduced as a strict reserve zone located in Sri Lanka.
