Legend has it that the mountain got its name from the shape of a bull's mouth. We can see the Gonmolliya mountain in the Ratnapura district from the Balangoda area. If you go to see the end of the world, you can see this mountain below it. A tributary of the Kiriketi Oya which joins the Walawe river also starts from the top of this hill. The height of Gonmolliya mountain is 2034 meters.
