The earth is truly beautiful with mountains, trees, forests, rivers, waterfalls, oceans and wildlife. People wondered who created the endless ocean as well as the skyscrapers that kissed the sky.
That's why they were interested in finding out more about them. Geologists have discovered many things, especially about mountain formation. They say that the formation of mountains was the result of various changes that took place in the earth's interior over hundreds of thousands of years, and that further study of these can reveal much about the history of the earth.
The mountains have a special place in Sri Lanka in terms of inequality. There are many isolated mountains as well as trunk classes in Sri Lanka.
About 180 million years ago, Antarctica, Sri Lanka and India were connected by land. Sri Lanka and India began to move upward from Antarctica as a result of a geological process taking place on Earth. There the two mainland lands of Sri Lanka and India were separated from each other. It can be said that the process of formation of mountains in Sri Lanka started more than 180 years ago due to the changes in the terrain caused by the thrust and pressure caused by this push.
Scientists believe that the mountains are still rising to some extent due to changes in the earth's surface. Scientifically, these mountain ranges are formed by the long-term movements of parts of the earth's crust. It is also the result of various geological activities in the world, including volcanoes and volcanoes.
The formation of mountains in Sri Lanka, which started about 180 million years ago, is still going on today. Scientists have so far discovered fourteen (14) tallest mountains in Sri Lanka.
